Where has today gone?!

Is it just me, or are there not enough hours in the day?????

That's really all I have time to say!! I thought at least someone out there would understand! I will keep my fingers crossed that I have a very productive day tomorrow.

One Design - 3 Ways

Today I have been playing with scale and have produced exactly the same necklace, in 3 very different sizes to see exactly how far I could push it. I think even with just pumping up the volume, you can take a very simple design and make it modern and a statement piece. I think my favourite would be the medium size and I will definately be wearing this one because I LOVE LOVE LOVE the print on this fabric! How BOLD would you be? Which one would you wear?!

All Tied Up

Today is all about my upcycled tie necklaces. What a way to make a statement. These are not for the faint hearted, but do make a lovely, bold addition to any wardrobe. Wear with block colours to make the colours "pop" or to really switch it up - pair with clashing patterns or colours to make your look even more quirky.

They come fastened with a safety pin which itself can look very cool or you can use any brooch or pin of your own to create new looks. Wear as tight or as loose as you want depending on your chosen neckline or collar.

Have a tie that has sentimental value to you or found the perfect charity shop find with an amazing paisley print you just love??? Contact me through the website, send me the tie and you can have your very own custom necklace made with love from Cissyface.

Doodle Time!!

OK, OK, OK so I am kinda in love with this idea! It's not rocket science, its not wildly creative, but I do honestly think it looks so striking and creating it also soothes me!!

My inspiration for these cards was a new cardboard alphabet set I bought and ways I could use it... I knew I wanted to do a range of cards, but the idea of how to actually illustrate the cards came very organically. I have basically filled the letter with the kind of doodles I do when I'm on the phone or brainstorming. I always look down and the page is filled with random doodles. This one came out very linear, but I am going to do a whole range and the beauty is each one is unique because they are all hand drawn. Stunningly simple idea and i think it looks so eye catching when its finished :) Here are some photos of the doodles growing...

I also definately want to develop this idea for Xmas, perhaps with a set spelling out MERRY CHRISTMAS in festive colours to send to loved ones. Even present tags! Oooooooooooooohh, the possibilites are endless :)
I also have a prototype cotton shopper using this idea.... not quite finished yet, but I will be sure to post it when it's done :)

I think I'm learning...

Here are some before and after photos of improvements I have made to product listings on the website. Evidence of just how important good photos are I think and also show what a dramatic learning curve the past couple of months have been!

LOW BUDGET Marketing...

What do you do when you have started a business and you have no budget whatsoever for marketing????

You get creative with some markers and your photocopier and hope that you can create something that grabs the attention of people enough to visit your website. I tried to make it look like a scrap of paper someone had joted down a note on. Think it looks quite fun if nothing else??
